Priya Karan joined LDB Group in 2023, bringing over 14 years of experience in the accounting industry to her role as a Manager. Leading an accounting and tax team, Priya supports a diverse client base, which includes high-net-worth family groups, SMEs, large private companies, medical professionals, construction and land developers, funeral homes, and primary producers. Her extensive experience spans individuals as well as complex tax entities, enabling her to provide tailored business advisory services that address a wide array of financial needs and challenges.

In her day-to-day work, Priya manages an extensive portfolio, fostering strong client relationships and delivering a comprehensive suite of services. Her responsibilities cover everything from managing business and tax compliance, including financial accounts and tax returns, to the timely lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS). Priya’s consulting expertise also extends to various accounting and tax areas vital to running a business or managing investments. Additionally, she advises clients on ASIC compliance for large and small foreign-controlled companies, ensuring that all regulatory obligations are met with precision. In overseeing her team, Priya upholds LDB Group’s core values of unity and collaboration, working closely with other departments to provide clients with an integrated and cohesive service experience.

Priya’s specialist expertise lies in tax compliance and business advisory services. She is skilled in navigating the complex and ever-evolving tax landscape to help clients maintain full compliance while strategically managing their tax liabilities. Whether addressing routine compliance issues or tackling intricate tax matters, Priya is committed to alleviating the tax burden for her clients while safeguarding their financial interests.

Priya’s journey into accounting was an unexpected one, initially pursuing a career in Medical Science. However, a quick realization that her aversion to blood and needles was insurmountable led her to explore other options. Pivoting to accounting, Priya discovered a surprising affinity for the field, especially its problem-solving aspects. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University in Sydney, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Chartered Accounting. She is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, as well as an Associate member of The Tax Institute of Australia. Her background has equipped her with a unique skill set that she applies to help clients navigate financial challenges and achieve sustainable growth.

Outside of work, Priya enjoys dedicating quality time to her young family. An avid cross-stitcher, she indulges her creative side in her spare time, often accompanied by a good book. She also loves to travel, meticulously planning each trip down to the finest detail, creating lasting memories and broadening her horizons with every adventure.
